Having a profitable preflop poker strategy starts with having a fundamentally sound preflop range. While every poker player knows how to play pocket aces, what other hands should be in your preflop range? ⁣

Your position in a poker hand heavily dictates what your preflop range should be. What the small blind raises with is completely different from what the dealer or the under-the-gun player raises with. Stephen Chidwick and David Peters are two titans of the high stakes poker world with almost $100,000,000 in live poker tournament earnings combined.

They are playing in a $25,000 poker tournament as part of the US Poker Open in the PokerGO studio in Las Vegas.

With just 3 players remaining and both of them having the biggest two stacks there are some heavy ICM (Independent Chip Model) implications that must be considered as the other player, Sean Winter, has just 14 big blinds.

When you are a middling stack at a poker final table you are highly incentivized to avoid playing huge pots and risk busting when there is a shorter stack at the table. Stephen Chidwick knows this all too well which will be a big reason that he decides to run a huge bluff against David Peters.

You can’t expect to have four of a kind or a full house every time on the river. To be a winning poker player you must be able to bluff when necessary. Today, I will teach you all how to bluff the river like a professional poker player. When watching high stakes poker tournaments and cash games, you will see some of the best poker players in the world make aggressive bluffs many of us do not have in our games. ⁣

When a third club comes on the river and you have the ace of clubs, sometimes you must be willing to represent the flush and go for the bluff. Especially in small stakes poker games, the typical player does not bluff nearly enough, providing a great way for small stakes players to increase their bankroll. ⁣

Today for Weekly Poker Hand we look at a hand from up and coming poker vlogger Wolfgang Poker!

I discuss the strategy that you should be thinking about on different flop textures. A JT7 flop is very different to a J62 flop! Your opponent’s are going to have more hands to continue with on a coordinated flop.

Generally you should use a larger continuation bet size when playing very deep stacked and when the board is coordinated.

Remember that most poker players in low stakes cash games do not like to fold a pair or a draw so you should exploitatively size up your bets with your value hands if you know they are not going to fold!

Jaman Burton aka The Drawing Dead finds himself in the $2/$5 cash game at the Encore in Las Vegas. He is against a tricky opponent who has been hyper aggressive.

Facing a tricky limp re-raiser is always a tricky spot to navigate in a poker hand. It really does depend on your opponent. If they are a tight OMC (Old Man Coffee) you can be sure that they will have a top 1% hand! What about a splashy aggressive poker player that might have too much to drink?

Be aware of the players that are limp re-raising and just choose to call more frequently preflop with your strong but non nutted hands. You don’t need to raise limpers every single time!

The poker world went into a frenzy this week after this crazy hand between Garrett Adelstein and new high stakes poker player Robbi Lew during a high stakes poker hand on the Hustler Casino Live stream.

Both players doubled down on Twitter after this incident with Robbi Lew saying that she made a hero call after she said she was “not playing nice in the sandbox anymore”. Garrett Adelstein responded with his thoughts into how he was cheated out of the money.

The poker hand in question is certainly one that raises a few eyebrows after Robbi calls off her entire stack with just jack high on a board that is even losing to a lot of Garrett’s bluffs yet alone his value hands.

Garrett Adelstein is no stranger to the Hustler Casino Live stream and today he faces off against very popular high stakes player Israeli Ron who is known for his famous Q2o hand!

Controversy happens at the end of this poker hand when the money is all in the middle as they cannot decide how many times they want to run the river. Are you a one time or two time kind of player?

When you are playing very deep stacked in a cash game make sure that you are careful with low suited connectors as you may often be dominated if you do hit a flush and lots of money ends up in the middle!

Remember that when you have no fold equity you should not raise with your hands that you would like to semi bluff with!
