WPH #505: Would YOU Believe Rampage Poker?

Rampage Poker is no stranger to monsters, be that monster pots, monster hands, or monster punts! Playing on Hustler Casino Live during a game of ‘Win The Button’, Rampage flops trips in a four-way pot and is delighted to see Jibrael lead into him; how will the poker vlogger win the maximum from this amateur player?

When you have a medium strength hand you should try your best to control the size of the pot by using smaller bet sizes. You do not want to unnecessarily bloat the size of the pot as you will often find yourself putting in a lot of money with either the worst hand or a hand that is very vulnerable to being outdrawn!

Ethan Yau, a.k.a Rampage, is a popular YouTuber and poker player. He has over 280,000 subscribers on YouTube and has won over $2,300,000 in poker tournaments, including a $900,000 win in a December 2022 World Poker Tour (WPT) High Roller at the Wynn.

Jibrael Hindi is introduced as an amateur poker player from America. He is a lawyer and professional bodybuilder. He has played over 10 times on the stream, mainly playing $25/$50/$100, but occasionally going up to higher stakes. He is over $69,000 in profit on Hustler Casino Live.

Hustler Casino Live is a full-scale, high-value poker production. Close to a million dollars was spent transforming the casino’s high-limit poker room, the Crystal Room, into the set of this new state-of-the-art live show. Hustler Casino Live looks more like coverage of a TV broadcast sporting event and appeals to those beyond the poker community. Unscripted and unedited, they host regular poker streams such as ‘Max Pain Monday’ and ‘Thirsty Thursday’. Some of the most notable poker players to have appeared on the show are Phil Ivey ‘The Tiger Woods of Poker’ ‘RaiseOnce, Tom Dwan ’durrrr’, Phil Hellmuth ‘The Poker Brat’, Chris Moneymaker, Doug Polk ‘WCGRider, Garrett Adelstein ‘Gman’, Tony Guoga ‘Tony G’ and many more.

The table is playing ‘Win The Button’, which means the player who wins the previous hand will be the button for the next hand.

🔍 Pre-Flop Action: Starting from under the gun and yet to win a chip during the stand-up game is Mike X with KQ of hearts, who opens to $300. It folds around to Mariano in the small blind and decides to call with 64 of hearts, prompting Jibrael to join the action with pocket sixes from the big blind. Rampage, also yet to win a chip during this round of the stand-up game, calls with Q8o in the straddle as they head to the flop four-way.

💸 Flop – 8d 8s 2h: The flop comes with two eights, which is gin for Rampage. After Mariano checks from the small blind, Jibrael takes the initiative in the hand and fires out $1,000. Rampage calls with his trip eights, while Mike X folds his two overcards and backdoor flush draw. Mariano quickly folds, leaving just two players that head to the turn.

💣 Turn – 2c: The turn brings a second deuce, creating a double-paired board and giving Rampage a full house, ensuring he will scoop the entire pot. Despite this, Jibrael makes an interesting choice to continue his aggression with his two pair and bets $3,000. Rampage, with eights full of twos, makes the call as they head to the river.

🌊 River – Jd: The river brings the jack of diamonds, adding another overcard to Jibrael’s pair of sixes. Undeterred, Jibrael bets $3,000 again. Rampage, still holding eights full of twos, now springs into action and raises to $20,000. Jibrael doesn’t immediately throw his hand into the muck as he notices Rampage is still in the stand-up game. Will this extra bit of information cause the bodybuilder to make a huge mistake? You’ll have to watch the entire poker video to find out!

WPH #504: He Said “I CALL” & FOLDED! [Brad Owen Is SHOCKED!]

Nobody likes to feel like they have been angled or hustled at the poker table, including poker vlogger Brad Owen. In this crazy hand, Brad’s opponent leaves his fate up to the flip of a coin! But might a careful choice of words have been a cunning way to trick the poker pro? You decide!

When playing deep stacked cash games and you have a draw to the nuts, you generally do not want to fold, even when facing a huge bet that may not give you the correct odds to continue. If stacks are deep enough and you are playing against a loose opponent you will have great implied odds to double up should you hit your draw.

Brad Owen is a World Poker Tour (WPT) ambassador and co-owner of The Lodge Card Club in Texas, he is a very successful YouTube poker vlogger with over 715,000 subscribers. His YouTube channel has had over 174,000,000 views. Primarily a cash game player Brad has started playing more poker tournaments since the start of 2022. His lifetime total live tournament winnings are over $790,000. His biggest cash for $152,266 came in December 2023 when he finished 7th in the $50,000 WPT Alpha8, during the WPT World Championship at the Wynn, Las Vegas.

The Bellagio poker room is a stylish 7,000 square feet space that houses 40 tables and two high-limit areas, the most prominent of which is the Legends Room – an exclusive two-table enclave named to honor poker’s greatest players. This room was previously known as Bobby’s room, named after the legendary poker player Bobby Baldwin.

🔍 Pre-Flop Action

With blinds at $5/$10, Brad Owen raises to $30 from middle position with K8 of spades. Both the small blind and big blind choose to call, resulting in three players heading to the flop.

💸 Flop – As Th 2s

Both blinds check to Brad, who has flopped the nut flush draw, he fires out a standard continuation bet of $50. The small blind now reaches for chips and throws out a check-raise to $200. After the big blind folds Brad decides to call with his nut flush draw.

💣 Turn – 3h

The 3 of hearts on the turn isn’t a spade that Brad was looking for. The small blind continues his story, putting out a nearly pot-sized bet of $400. Brad, who still thinks he has the correct implied odds, makes the call, hoping to river a flush.

🌊 River – Js

The river jack of spades completes Brad’s king-high flush, giving him the nuts. Now, the small blind decides to slow down and check. Brad, after some deliberation, decides to bet $1,200. Will the small blind make the call? He resorts to flipping a coin to determine the fate of his $1,200. But was this a ploy to angle Brad & try to get more information? Watch this poker video to find out and make your own decision!

WPH #503: INSANE READ By Michael Addamo!!!!!!

#tritonpoker #pokerstrategy #tournamentpoker

In 2021, Michael Addamo dominated the poker world, claiming victory after victory and instilling fear in many of the high stakes tournament players. Among them is Aleksejs Ponakovs, who seems hell-bent on winning this battle of the blinds at the $200,000 Triton Invitational tournament. But can he find a way to win with just 8-high or will Addamo see through his audacious bluff?

When playing tournaments and you are in the small blind playing with 200+ big blinds, you ought to limp more and be cautious with your medium-strength hands, especially when there is a big blind ante.

Michael Addamo ‘imluckbox’ is a 29 year old Australian professional poker player and is a regular at the highest stakes tournaments in the world. He has over $22,000,000 in live tournament earnings, putting him in the top 35 on the all time money list. He has 4 World Series Of Poker (WSOP) bracelets. His biggest cash of $3,402,000 came in the $300,000 PokerGo Tour – PGT Super High Roller Bowl in 2021.

Aleksejs Ponakovs is a professional poker player from Austria. He has over $14,000,000 in live tournament earnings, putting him in the top 80 on the all-time money list. He has 2 WSOP bracelets, one from the 2022 $100,000 No Limit Hold’em – High Roller 8-Handed for $1,897,363. The second came from an online event, the 2021 $7,777 No Limit Hold’em – Lucky 7’s High Roller for $432,491.

This Special Triton Invitational poker tournament is a unique $200,000 NLH buy-in that features high-net-worth individuals (generally businessmen/women) and poker professionals battling for huge amounts of prize money and the coveted title & trophy. This exclusive event kicked off the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series in Monte-Carlo. Some notable players in this event were Jason Koon, Michael Addamo ‘imluckbox’, Chris Brewer, Dan Smith ‘Cowboy Dan’, Paul Phua, Aleksejs Ponakovs, Issac Haxton ‘philivey2694′, Sam Grafton ‘SamSquid’, Erik Seidel, Richard Yong, Tony G, Phil Nagy, Fedor Holz ‘CrownUpGuy’, Stephen Chidwick ‘stevie444’, and many more.

The Triton Monte Carlo Series was held at the Monte-Carlo Sporting / Salle Des Étoiles, and it had 13 poker tournaments with buy-ins from $25,000 up to $200,000 in NLHE and PLO.

1st: Dan Smith – U.S.A – $3,870,000 2nd: Mario Mosbock ‘livinmydream1’- Austria – $2,690,000 3rd: Elton Tsang – Hong Kong – $1,780,000 4th: Jean Noel Thorel ‘JNT’ – France – $1,390,000 5th: Alexander Shelukhin – Russia – $1,125,000 6th: Danny Tang – Hong Kong – $875,000

🔍 Pre-Flop Action In the very early stages of this $200,000 buy-in Triton Invitational, the action folds to Michael Addamo in the small blind. He decides to complete the big blind with Q9o. Aleksejs Ponakovs, in the big blind with 86o, raises to 6,000. Addamo opts for a call, and they head to the flop heads-up.

💸 Flop – Kd Qs 3s The flop comes king-high with a flush draw, giving Addamo second pair. He checks to Ponakovs, who continues his preflop aggression with a continuation bet of 4,500 holding just 8-high. Addamo, holding a pair of queens, decides to call as they both see a turn.

💣 Turn – Ac The ace of clubs on the turn completes the obvious broadway straight and presents another overcard to Addamo’s weakening pair of queens. He checks again to Ponakovs, who opts to fire out a second bullet of 19,000. Despite just holding third pair,, Addamo remains unfazed by this almost pot-sized bet and decides to call to see a river.

🌊 River – Td The board worsens for Addamo as the ten of diamonds falls, completing a potential broadway straight with any jack. Addamo checks for the third and final time. Ponakovs, who since preflop has been telling the story of a big hand, decides to fire out a three-quarters pot-sized bet of 45,000 with just 8-high. Addamo, who is used to being the one putting other professional poker players in uncomfortable spots, faces his own tough decision. Can this poker wizard figure it out and make the hero call to win this battle of the blinds? Watch the entire poker video to find out!

WPH #502: She HUMILIATES Phil Hellmuth & JY!

Arden Cho, a model, singer, and Netflix star, is no stranger to the spotlight! This time she’s taking her acting skills to new heights as she attempts to pull off an audacious bluff against poker professionals Phil Hellmuth and Justin Young on PokerGo’s No Gamble, No Future!

When 3-betting preflop you should have some bluffs such as suited connectors. This will help balance your range and give you better board coverage on many flops. If you decide to only 3-bet broadway cards then you are lacking a clear nut advantage on any flops that do not contain a high card!

Phil Hellmuth ‘The Poker Brat’ has over $29,000,000 in live tournament earnings putting him in the top 25 on the all time money list and has 17 World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets which is currently the most that any poker player has won! Hellmuth is also well known for his antics and outbursts at the poker table.

Arden Lim Cho is a 38 year old American actress, singer, and model known for portraying Kira Yukimura in the 2011 MTV television series Teen Wolf and Ingrid Yun in the 2022 Netflix television series Partner Track.

Justin Young is an American professional poker player and has over $6,400,000 in live tournament earnings. His largest cash of $936,760 came in the $10,000 2008 Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic, Las Vegas where he came 2nd. He runs the very popular poker podcast called ‘Table 1’ where they talk about poker, gambling, and all manner of life experiences as a professional poker player on and off the felt. 🔍 Pre-Flop Action:

Justin Young raises to $300 with pocket jacks from under the gun; he gets called by Phil Hellmuth in the hijack with A3 of hearts before Arden Cho 3-bets to $1,300 holding 87 of diamonds. The blinds fold before both Young and Hellmuth make the call to see a flop.

💸 Flop – Ts 5d 4d

The flop comes T-high with two diamonds. Young checks his overpair to Hellmuth, who follows suit and checks his gutshot straight draw and backdoor flush draw. Cho, with an 8-high flush draw also has a gutshot straight draw to a straight flush. She continues the aggression by betting $1,500.This doesn’t deter Young or Hellmuth as they both make the call as all three of them head to the turn.

💣 Turn – 5h

A board pairing 5 of hearts sees Young lead out with a donk-bet of $3,500 into the two opponents with his overpair. Hellmuth throws his cards into the muck, while Cho carves out the call with her combo draw.

🌊 River – 7c

The river is the 7 of clubs bringing in a few unlikely straights, but Young is not scared with his pocket jiggities. He bets again to the tune of $5,000. Cho may have missed her gutshot straight flush draw, but she has paired her 7 to give her second pair. So what should she do? Fold or call? Oh wait, doesn’t she have a third option? WPH #501: The $456,000 Hand!!!! [Game of Gold]

It is Dan ‘Jungleman’ Cates facing off against Maria Ho in a battle for $456,000 and to be crowned as the first ever Game of Gold winner! With the runner-up getting nothing, the stakes couldn’t be any higher. This pot balloons up quickly as Maria Ho tries to use her position to outplay the heads-up specialist in Jungleman!

Betting is often a good strategy when you have a strong but vulnerable pair. Low pairs always have the danger of becoming the second best hand at showdown if your opponent has overcards and hits one of them on the turn or river. If you decide to bet you will often get folds from your opponents that have overcards to the board which helps protect your hand from being outdrawn.

Maria Ho is a professional poker player from America. She has over $5,000,000 in live tournament earnings, putting her in the top 350 on the all-time money list. She is well known for commentating on a wide variety of poker shows including US Poker Open, Super High Roller Bowl, Poker Masters, and the World Series of Poker.

Dan Cates also known as Jungleman is a 33 year old from the USA and is regarded by many as one of the best poker players in the world both online where he is known as w00ki3z and on the live poker circuit. He has played in all the high stakes poker cash games around the world for many years. He has over $12,000,000 in live tournament earnings, putting him in the top 80 on the all time money list. He famously won the World Series Of Poker (WSOP) $50,000 Players Championships, regarded as one of the hardest poker tournaments to win, in 2021 and again in 2022.

Filmed in Seoul, South Korea and hosted by experienced poker broadcaster Ali Nejad, Game of Gold combines high stakes poker with survival reality TV. Over the course of the 12 episodes, the sixteen participants competed across various poker formats, including Sit & Go’s, Heads-Up games, Indian Poker and a standard tournament poker game.

The poker players on the show included Daniel Negreanu “KidPoker”, Jason Koon, Fedor Holz “CrownUpGuy”, Kevin Martin, Kyna England, Josh Arieh, Daniel Cates “Jungleman”, Lukas Robinson “RobinPoker”, Nikita Luther, Charlie Carrel “Epiphany77”, Johan Guilbert “YoH ViraL”, Olga Iermolcheva, David Williams, Andy Tsai “Andy Stacks”, Michael Soyza, and Maria Ho.

The final six players competed in a winner-take-all format Sit & Go (SNG). This was unique as it meant there was no Independent Chip Model (ICM) pressure on any of the poker players.

Game of Gold Results

Dan Cates decides to 3-bet from the big blind to 1,150,000 with Q7 of diamonds. Maria calls and they head to the flop, with Ho having slightly more chips than Cates to start the hand.

💸 Flop – 9d 7c 2c

Cates takes the lead by flopping middle pair and keeps up with his preflop aggression by firing out a bet of 800,000. Ho, who has backdoor flush & straight possibilities decides to float and makes the call.

💣 Turn – 4c

When a third club falls on the turn, bringing in a potential flush, Cates decides to relinquish the aggression by checking. Ho, holding just one overcard and the king-high flush draw, now takes the betting lead with a big bet of 2,700,000. However, Cates isn’t going to forfeit this considerable pot that easily and calls to see the river.

🌊 River – 3c

The river 3 of clubs completes the four flush board. Now it is up to one of the poker world’s heads-up end bosses, Dan ‘Jungleman’ Cates. But what will he do? How will Maria respond, and who will become the Game of Gold champion? All will be answered if you watch this poker video!

WPH #500: NEGREANU vs HELLMUTH [HUGE Error!]

On PokerGO’s No Gamble, No Future, poker legends Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth face off. Hellmuth sets the trap when he flops two pair, but will Kid Poker fall for it, or will he find a way to put The Poker Brat on tilt?

When considering whether to fire a second barrel as a bluff on the turn, it’s usually good to have some form of equity, such as a gutshot straight draw. This provides you with some potential outs to improve your hand and possibly win the pot.

Daniel Negreanu ‘DNegs’ or ‘KidPoker’ is in the top 5 on the poker all time money list with over $52,000,000 in total live earnings. He has 6 World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets. Negreanu is 49 years old and originally from Toronto in Canada but resides in Las Vegas, U.S.A. Negreanu grew up playing primarily cash games and has appeared on many popular poker shows such as High Stakes Poker, High Stakes Feud, Poker After Dark, and High Stakes Duel (he won the most recent season, beating Eric Persson and Doug Polk whilst claiming $200,000 as well as the championship belt).

Phil Hellmuth ‘The Poker Brat’ has over $29,000,000 in live tournament earnings putting him in the top 25 on the all time money list, he has the most WSOP bracelets (17) and is well known for his antics and outbursts at the poker table.

No Gamble, No Future is an American poker television program that airs on PokerGO, and premiered on August 1, 2022. The poker show provides cash game-focused entertainment with a variety of stakes and players partaking. It has featured players such as Phil Hellmuth, Andrew Robl, Eric Persson, Patrick Antonius, Matt Berkey, Nik Airball and Daniel Negreanu.

🔍 Pre-flop:

Daniel Negreanu, who is one of the 3 remaining players yet to win a hand in the stand up game, raises 10 times the big blind to $2,000 from the cutoff with J8o. The button and small blind fold, but Phil Hellmuth decides to call with K2o in the big blind as these two poker legends head to the flop.

💸 Flop – Ks 5d 2c

It’s a dream flop for The Poker Brat as he hits two pair. He checks to Negreanu, who throws out a $3,000 continuation bet. Hellmuth decides to call with his top and bottom pair as they both head to the turn..

💣 Turn – 2d

The deuce of diamonds upgrades Hellmuth’s two pair to a full house as he checks again to the aggressive Negreanu. Negreanu doesn’t slow down as he fires out a big bet of $10,000. Hellmuth continues to set the trap by just making the call.

🌊 River – 3s

A meaningless three on the river sees Hellmuth quickly check over to Negreanu. But will Negreanu fire that third and final bullet? And what will Hellmuth do? Stay to the end of this poker video to find out!

WPH #499: He MEGA TILTS After Doug Polk Does THIS!

In this poker hand at The Lodge Card Club, Doug Polk, aka ‘WCGRider,’ is flexing his speech play skills in a bid to manipulate Mike D. The question is, will his silver tongue do the trick?

When you have a tough decision, and your opponent starts talking to you, it is because they are trying to talk you into what they want you to do. When an opponent speaks very clearly, they are usually not bluffing, but if they struggle to put a sentence together, they are more than likely bluffing.

Doug Polk ‘WCGRider’ is the owner of The Lodge Card Room along with Brad Owen and Andrew Neeme. Doug has over $9,500,000 in live tournament earnings and 3 World Series Of Poker (WSOP) bracelets, including a win in the $100k Super High Roller for $1,600,000.

Not too much is known about Mike D, but he is introduced as an amateur poker player who has played a few times at The Lodge.

In early 2022, poker professionals Doug Polk, Brad Owen, and Andrew Neeme joined forces to acquire a controlling stake in The Lodge Poker Club & Card Room, which happens to be the largest poker establishment in Austin, Texas. This exclusive poker club, accessible only to its members, boasts an impressive array of amenities, including over 80 poker tables of cash games and tournaments, operating round-the-clock. Additionally, The Lodge provides an inviting ambiance with 40 large-screen TVs, allowing poker club members to enjoy sports entertainment while playing poker or while relaxing in the cozy waiting area. The live poker stream includes commentary from Skull Mike and Slick Rick, who have been long-time regulars at The Lodge. They provide viewers with strategic insights, complemented by a perfect blend of humor.

The Lodge Live Stream has had a variety of different poker players coming to play on stream, these include; Doug Polk ‘WCGRider’, Alex Foxen, Dan Cates ‘Jungleman’, Ben Lamb, Bill Perkins, Brad Owen, Andrew Neeme, and Nik Airball.

🔍 Pre-flop:

Everyone folds to Mike D in the small blind who looks down at A5 of clubs, he opts to call the huge $400 double straddle. Doug Polk peeks down at A8o in the big blind and follows suit with a call. Next to act is Alex in the under the gun straddle with K4o, he senses weakness from his opponents and raises to $2,400. This doesn’t deter Mike D or Doug as they both put in the call as they head 3-way to the flop.

💸 Flop – As 4s 2s

The ace-high monotone flop is incredibly wet but no player has a spade. Mike and Doug check their top pairs over to the preflop aggressor Alex, who fires out a continuation bet for $3,300. Both Mike and Doug make the call to see the turn card.

💣 Turn – 3s

A fourth spade arrives which gives Mike D a five-high straight, he checks again over to Doug who also checks. Alex chooses not to double-barrel this turn and checks to see a river.

🌊 River – Tc

After a ten comes on the river, Mike D has the chance to scoop this huge pot with a straight if he can get to showdown. He checks for a third time to Doug, who knows that his pair of aces probably isn’t good, fires out a big bet of $11,400. After Alex swiftly folds, the action is back on Mike D. As Mike D looks like he is about to throw in the call to win a pot of almost $40,000 Doug opens his mouth! But what does Doug say? Will it encourage a call or a fold from Mike D? Watch this poker video to find out!

Have you ever wondered how chess superstar Alexandra Botez would fare in a poker tournament? Well, here’s your chance as ice hockey legend Deryk Engelland puts her in a tough spot on the river!

When you are playing in a large pot and you have a short stack you should be aware that it is usually the best play to shove all-in with a poker hand that is likely good but very vulnerable to being outdrawn.

Alexandra Botez is a 28 year old American-Canadian chess player, she became a five-time Canadian National Girls Champion and won the U.S. Girls Nationals at age 15. Recently, she has appeared on both poker cash games and tournament poker streams, one of her first appearances was on the Hustler Casino Live stream with MrBeast, Ninja, Phil Hellmuth ‘The Poker Brat’, Tom Dwan ‘durrrr’ and Alan Keating where she won over $500,000. She has over 1,430,000 YouTube subscribers and over 1,200,000 Twitch followers.

Deryk Engelland is a 41 year old Canadian former professional ice hockey defenseman. Engelland played for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Calgary Flames and Vegas Golden Knights over his eleven-season career in the National Hockey League (NHL). Throughout his career, Engelland was best known for his physical play and fighting abilities.

The 2023 Enclave Celebrity Invitational was a $50,000 freeroll hosted in the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 72-entrant field included celebrities, content creators, professional athletes, business leaders and professional poker players. With the likes of Alexandra Botez, Josh Richards, Bryce Hall, Nik Airball, Pierson Wodzynski, Nick Austin, Andre Drummond, Princess Love, and many more battling it out for the $50,000 prize pool.

Neither player cashed in this event.

Freeroll – 2023 Enclave Celebrity Invitational – Results

1st: Qiyu Zhou ‘Nemo’ – China – $20,000 2nd: William Pulte – U.S.A – $10,000 3rd: Chris Grove – U.S.A – $5,000 4th: Brandon Marshall – U.S.A – $3,500 5th: Nathan Webb – England – $2,500 6th: Joey Hamilton – U.S.A – $2,000 7th: Manny Kess – U.S.A – $1,500 8th: Chase DeMoor – U.S.A – $1,000 9th: Steven Markowitz – U.S.A – $1,000

🔍 Pre-flop:

Deryk Engelland limps in with K9 of spades for 20,000 from under-the-gun +1. Following suit, Jessica Canseco in the cutoff takes a similar approach, limping in with K8 of diamonds; Nathan Webb is next to act in the small blind and completes with A8o, Alexandra Botez checks her option with AQo in the big blind and they go 4-way to the flop.

💸 Flop – Kc Qd Tc

Webb and Botez check the extremely connected flop to Engelland, who fires out a bet of 35,000 with top pair and a gutshot straight draw. Canseco, with top pair and a backdoor flush draw, makes the call, while Webb folds from the small blind. Botez, with second pair and a gutshot straight draw, decides to stick around to see the turn.

💣 Turn – Jc

The turn brings in the flush which now also gives Botez the ace-high straight; she checks again to Engelland, who bets 75,000 with the bottom end of a straight. Canseco folds her pair of kings, but Botez decides to just call with her straight.

🌊 River – Js

The board pairs on the river, and now the value of Botez’s ace-high straight shrinks even more; she checks for a final time to Engelland. He bets 90,000 with his bad straight which is enough to put Botez all-in. Back on chess superstar Botez with the A-high straight, she will surely call….right?
