WPH #527: How To BULLY As The CHIP LEADER!!!!

Being at the final table of a $25,000 buy-in PokerGO tournament in Las Vegas is likely a dream situation for every poker player. PokerCoaching coach and founder Jonathan Little found himself in that exact situation with $450,000 awaiting the eventual winner! Knowing when to pressure your opponent is crucial to pick up chips throughout the final table and here Jonathan Little demonstrates exactly how to do just that! .

When you are the biggest stack at a final table, you often want to use frequent aggression with smaller bet sizes. This allows you to build the pot to put your opponent all-in by the river. It also forces a competent opponent to overfold, because they will know that they are likely going to be facing bets on multiple streets.

$25,000 – 2024 PokerGo Cup Event #8 – Results

1st: Jonathan Little U.S.A – $453,750 2nd: Justin Zaki – U.S.A – $288,750 3rd: Justin Saliba ‘Jsaliba2’ ‘JustGTO’ – U.S.A – $192,500 4th: John Riordan – U.S.A – $137,500 5th: Seth Davies – U.S.A – $110,000

🔍 Preflop: In a blind-on-blind encounter, Justin Zaki limps in from the small blind with A7o. Chip leader Jonathan Little checks from the big blind with 84o and they both head to the flop.

💸 Flop – 5h 3s 3c: Zaki’s ace-high is still best on the five-high flop. He checks with two overcards and a backdoor straight draw. Little fires out a bet of 60,000 with eight-high and a backdoor straight draw. Zaki calls and they continue to the turn.

💣 Turn – 9d: The 9 of diamonds on the turn completes the badugi board. Zaki checks again with the best hand. Little doesn’t pick up any backdoor draws but decides to check it back.

🌊 River – Qc: The Q of clubs doesn’t improve either player’s hand. Zaki checks, surely hoping that he can get to showdown cheaply. Jonathan knows his eight-high will be second best if he checks behind, so he decides to bluff and fires out a bet of 150,000 for half-pot. Zaki is an experienced poker player and knows that Little, as the chip leader, can apply a lot of Independent Chip Model (ICM) pressure on him at this final table. But can he find the correct call with just ace-high? Stay around to the end of this poker video to find out!
