Brad Owen takes a seat away from the stream tables at The Lodge Card Club in this hand, but he has his trusty camera there to vlog all the action. After he gets check-raised all-in on the river while holding a straight, Brad attempts to completely soul read his opponent!
When deciding to take a line that involves floating the flop and bluffing the turn, you should be willing to fire another barrel on specific rivers especially if the river is unfavorable for your opponent’s turn calling range. Even if your opponent is likely to have overpairs, it is important to recognize which cards are good for your range and bad for theirs.

The two original limpers fold, but Brad calls in position with his suited broadway cards which are also 20% of a royal flush.

One of the key aspects of becoming a winning poker player is knowing how to crush with a huge stack. Whether in cash games or poker tournaments, mastering how to navigate with a huge stack will add a massive amount to your hourly rate!
It doesn’t matter if you’re a poker beginner or an experienced professional — everyone will accumulate many enormous stacks during their poker journey. Whether it’s in tournaments or cash games, Jonathan Little, with his decades of experience, will delve into the similarities and differences of playing with a huge stack.
When you have a huge stack, it’s important to understand that your poker strategy should change depending on the stage of the tournament. In the early stages, you can use a big stack to see more flops and play in position. Whereas in the later stages, there will be a lot more Independent Chip Model (ICM) pressure. On the bubble you can use a big stack to bully opponents who are scared to bust. On a final table you can also use it to exploit a lot of medium stacks as the majority of those players will be looking to ladder up the pay jumps by waiting for the shorter stacks to bust.
In cash games, you can’t apply ICM pressure to your opponents. Instead, having a huge stack means you need to focus on playing solid deep-stacked poker and understanding the importance of implied odds and reverse implied odds, which has some similarities to having a huge stack in the early stages of poker tournaments.
In this live poker video, Jonathan Little will explain in great detail how you can start crushing the games you play with a huge stack. You may have always wondered: Should I be more aggressive with a big stack? What bet sizes should I use? How important is my position when playing deep-stacked? Have no fear — this video is perfect for you! Jonathan will address all of your concerns with his decades of experience in both poker tournaments and poker cash games.
In order to take your poker game to the next level it is vitally important you learn all the nuances of the game.
Do you know what ranges of poker hands you should be playing from each position? When should you 3-bet, call or fold? When is the right time to make a hero call or a huge bluff? Doug Polk and Nik Airball clash once again at The Lodge Card Club in a massive high stakes cash game. Polk puts out a value-bet on the river with pocket kings only to find himself facing a check-shove all-in from Airball. Will Polk make the call and win a pot worth over a quarter of a million dollars?
When deciding on whether to call a raise or a 3-bet preflop you should consider two things. Firstly, your implied pot odds – are you getting the correct price to call? Secondly, you should also consider whether the opponent you are playing against is the type of player that will triple barrel bluff on certain boards. If they are, it means that you are more likely to realize your implied odds therefore you can justify calling bigger 3-bets and raises preflop.
Doug Polk ‘WCGRider’ is the owner of The Lodge Card Room along with Brad Owen and Andrew Neeme. Doug has over $9,500,000 in live tournament earnings and 3 World Series Of Poker (WSOP) bracelets, including a win in the 2017 $100k Super High Roller for $1,600,000. Since 2014 he has played over 108 times on live streamed cash games and is winning over $180,000.
Nik Airball is an investment banker and an amateur poker player and is often involved in heated table talk with the other poker players. Nik Airball is almost fluent in Mandarin, engaging in table talk with many Mandarin speaking poker players. He often voices his strong opinions about current trends, topics and scandals in the poker world on social media and poker podcasts. Since 2022 and from over 150 sessions, Nik has won over $570,000 from live streamed cash games.

🔍 Preflop: With the $800 double straddle on, Bulldog raises to $2,000 from the cutoff with K9o. Ryan Feldman calls from the button with 63 of hearts and Nik Airball defends from the big blind with pocket fives. Doug Polk then 3-bets to $14,000 from the under-the-gun straddle with pocket kings. Bulldog and Feldman fold, but Nik Airball calls as he looks to set mine with his small pocket pair.
💸 Flop – Qs 9h 2h: Airball checks to Polk on the queen high two heart flop. Polk, holding an overpair to the board and a backdoor straight draw, downbets to $11,000 and Airball calls.
💣 Turn – 8h: The 8 of hearts on the turn completes both the flush and straight draws. Airball now has fourth pair on the board. He checks and Polk, opting for some pot control checks his kings back.
🌊 River – 7d: Airball seems content to get to showdown as he checks again with his pocket fives. Polk, holding the overpair, decides to throw out a value-bet of $38,000. Airball opts for the most aggressive play and check-raises all-in for $139,000. Will Polk sniff out Airball’s bluff and make the call or will Airball get Polk to lay down pocket kings? Many poker players prefer online cash games over live games simply because they can play a lot more hands across multiple tables. A big problem for many is that poker isn’t legal everywhere, so live poker might be their only option!
It’s also important to remember that nothing can beat the feeling of being at a poker table—touching the cards, dragging in the chips, and staring deep into your opponent’s soul when you decide to make that huge hero call. Something you just can’t quite replicate when playing online poker!
To make poker a profitable venture based on your hours at the table, it’s crucial to do everything you can to increase your win rate in live cash games. The higher your win rate, the more money you make per hour at the poker table.
In this live poker webinar, Jonathan will reveal many poker strategies to help boost your win rate in live cash games. Don’t be fooled into thinking that increasing your win rate can only be achieved whilst in the cardroom. Although things such as careful game selection, bankroll management, and seat positioning will help increase your hourly, there are also actions you can take away from the table to elevate yourself from a weak regular to a feared poker player ready to move up in stakes. Jonathan will expand on topics like how to study away from the table, the mental side of the game, and other crucial practices that top winning players have been using for years!
In order to take your poker game to the next level it is vitally important you learn all the nuances of the game.

Johan Guilbert “YoH ViraL” is a professional poker player from France. He has over $4,500,000 in live tournament earnings, putting him in the top 500 on the all-time money list. His largest tournament score of $892,811 came in Rozvadov when he finished 2nd in the 2021 World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) Main Event. Filmed in Seoul, South Korea and hosted by experienced poker broadcaster Ali Nejad, Game of Gold combines high stakes poker with survival reality TV. Over the course of the 12 episodes, the sixteen participants competed across various poker formats, including Sit & Go’s, Heads-Up games, Indian Poker and a standard tournament poker game.
The poker players on the show included Daniel Negreanu “KidPoker”, Jason Koon, Fedor Holz “CrownUpGuy”, Kevin Martin, Kyna England, Josh Arieh, Daniel Cates “Jungleman”, Lukas Robinson “RobinPoker”, Nikita Luther ‘HiiiBarbie’, Charlie Carrel “Epiphany77”, Johan Guilbert “YoH ViraL”, Olga Iermolcheva, David Williams, Andy Tsai “Andy Stacks”, Michael Soyza and Maria Ho.
In Round 1, a four-tier Sit & Go poker format, each team (spades, diamonds, hearts and clubs) put a poker player into a separate round of four-handed poker action, with Game of Gold coins on offer for finishing first, second, third, or fourth. The rounds increased in the amount of coins that were offered, until the fourth ‘mystery’ round, where no-one knew how many coins were on offer. The team with the least Game of Gold coins at the end of all four Sit & Go’s would be eliminated.
The final six players competed in a winner-take-all format Sit & Go (SNG). This was unique as it meant there was no Independent Chip Model (ICM) pressure on any of the poker players.

Xuan Liu is playing in a massive high stakes poker game at The Lodge Card Club, with not one but two straddles on! She sees a raise in front of her from the loose Tesla before she looks down at the best starting hand in poker, the beautiful pocket aces. She must already be thinking about how she can get all of Tesla’s chips! However, everything changes when Tesla puts in the rare double check-raise before finally shoving on the river. But nobody can work out if this is a value bet or a bluff! What do you think?
When playing against a player you regard as very loose, you should look to use larger bet sizes with your strong value hands. Their calling range becomes inelastic to bet size as they generally decide whether to call or fold to a bet with their specific hand and disregard the size of the bet. Be careful when doing this that you do not use a size that is above their calling threshold, many players can get overly scared of bigger than pot sized bets so you must figure out who these opponents are and adjust accordingly!
Xuan Liu is a Canadian professional poker player with over $2,300,000 in live tournament earnings. Her largest cash of $600,000 came in 2012 when she finished 4th in the $10,000 buy-in Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure (PCA). 888poker sponsored her from 2010 to 2015. Xuan has played over 30 times in live streamed cash games at different venues and is down over $200,000.
James, also known by “”Tesla”” is an American amateur poker player and entrepreneur who lives in Panama City Beach, Florida, USA. This was his first appearance on The Lodge Live Stream. James is currently down over $740,000 from 3 live streamed cash games and has only played at The Lodge Card Club.

🔍 Preflop: With a $200 double straddle on, Tesla raises to $900 from the cutoff with KQo. Xuan Liu 3-bets to $2,500 from the button with pocket aces. After the small blind and big blind fold, Tesla calls with his two broadway cards.
💸 Flop – Qd Th 6h: Tesla checks after flopping top pair with a backdoor straight draw and backdoor flush draw. Liu puts out a continuation bet of $2,500 with her overpair, backdoor straight draw and a backdoor flush draw. Tesla raises to $6,000 with his pair of queens, which Liu calls with her pocket rockets as they both head to the turn.
💣 Turn – Td: A board-pairing ten of diamonds on the turn introduces a second flush draw. Tesla chooses to check after not picking up any backdoor draws to go with his top pair. Liu, also without any backdoor draws, fires out a bet of $6,000. Tesla then executes the extremely rare double check-raise, making it $19,000. Liu makes the call and they head to the river.
🌊 River – 6d: A double board pairing 6 of diamonds on the river completes the backdoor flush. Tesla bets $24,400, putting Liu all-in. Will Liu be able to call with the American Airlines? Will Tesla ‘get paid’ with this thin value bet or did he turn his hand into a bluff? Stay tuned to the end of the video to find out!

Jesse Lonis and Shannon Shorr get into a battle of the blinds during an event at the 2024 U.S. Poker Open at the PokerGo Studio in Las Vegas. Shorr puts Lonis all-in on the river and after some thought Lonis reaches for his timebank chips. To his horror, he can’t seem to find them anywhere! They’ve gone missing and he has only 10 seconds left to make a decision for his tournament life or his cards will be automatically folded!
You shouldn’t always raise your strong hands such as broadway cards from the small blind when it folds to you. You should mix between limping and raising, as this helps you maintain a balanced range. By doing so, your opponent will not be able to exploit your limps, as your range of limping from the small blind will not just contain weak ones but also some strong hands.
Jesse Lonis has over $10,600,00 in live tournament earnings putting him in the top 150 on the all-time money list. He has two World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets. The first came from a 2022 $1,000 No Limit Hold’em (NLHE) 6-Max (Online Bracelet Event) where he won $73,371. The second was from the 2023 $50,000 Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) High Roller 8-Max, where he won $2,303,017, this is his biggest cash to date.
Shannon Shorr ‘basebal1b’ ‘aulophobia’ has over $13,300,000 in live tournament earnings putting him in the top 100 on the all time money list. He has been a regular in tournaments and cash games of all stakes for over 15 years. He was also Jonathan Little’s best man at his wedding & is now a coach for PokerCoaching.com!
The 2024 U.S. Poker Open was the sixth edition of the USPO, a series of high-stakes poker tournaments held at PokerGO Studio at the Aria Hotel & Casino. The series ran from April 8th-17th, with 8 scheduled events culminating in the $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em tournament finale.
$10,000 – 2024 PGT U.S. Poker Open Event #4 – Results
🔍 Preflop: In a battle of the blinds, Jesse Lonis limps in from the small blind with KTo. Shannon Shorr raises to 42,000 from the big blind with pocket nines and Lonis calls.
💸 Flop – Kc 9c 4s: Lonis checks from out of position after flopping top pair with a pair of kings, along with a backdoor straight draw and a backdoor flush draw. Shorr, who flops the second nuts with a set of nines, fires a continuation bet of 28,000. Lonis calls without knowing that he needs a miracle runner-runner to make the best hand.
💣 Turn – Js: The J of spades on the turn brings in a backdoor flush draw. Lonis improves to a gutshot straight draw to broadway in addition to his top pair. He checks and faces a bet of 120,000 from Shorr, who holds three nines. Lonis makes the call as they both head to the river.
🌊 River – 6s: The backdoor flush completes with the 6 of spades on the river. Lonis checks for the third and final time holding top pair and a straight blocker. Shorr, unfazed by the potential straight or flush, bets 259,000, enough to put Lonis all-in. Lonis goes deep into the tank and after some time he realizes that he’s missing all of his precious timebanks. Will this impact his decision to call or fold? You’ll have to watch the full poker video to find out what happens!

During a three handed cash game at the Lodge Card Club in Texas, Brad Owen gets into a battle of the blinds with his friend Daniel. Brad decides to unload the clip with a missed flush draw by overbetting the river. Will he be able to get this huge bluff past his friend or will Daniel sniff it out and take some of those very sought after Bradley dollars?
When deciding to use a large bet size on the flop or turn, it’s important to ensure you are polarized with the hands that you choose to do it with. This means you should have either a very strong made hand or a strong draw. By doing so, you remain balanced, and your opponents will not be able to exploit you based on your bet sizing.

💸 Flop – Jc 7h 2c: Daniel checks as he is first to act. Brad puts out a continuation bet of $650, having flopped the nut flush draw, a backdoor wheel draw & an overcard. Daniel slides in the call, and they head to the turn to continue this battle of the blinds.
💣 Turn – 9d: Daniel checks for a second time after the 9 of diamonds appears on the turn. Brad fires a second barrel of $1,500, continuing to represent a premium pocket pair like aces or kings, even though he only has the nut flush draw and one overcard. Daniel calls again.

🔍 Preflop: Phil Ivey raises to 160,000 with KJ of clubs from the cutoff. Ramin Hajiyev 3-bets to 450,000 from the button holding AKo. After the blinds fold, Ivey calls with his suited broadway cards and they head to the flop.
💸 Flop – 6s 4h 3c The low flop misses both players completely. Ivey checks with his two overcards and a backdoor flush draw. Hajiyev fires a standard continuation bet of 275,000 with his big slick which Ivey calls out of position.
💣 Turn – 5h: The 5 of hearts brings in a four-liner, meaning any three or seven would make a straight. Neither Ivey nor Hajiyev improves on this card and they both decide to check.
🌊 River – 7s: When the 7 of spades hits the river, both players are playing the seven-high straight on board and will chop the pot if they both get to showdown. However, Ivey attempts to scoop the entire pot and moves all-in for 1,285,000. Will arguably the G.O.A.T. of poker get this epic bluff through, or will Hajiyev figure out Ivey’s antics and make the hero call to chop the pot?
