When thinking about your turn bet sizing, typically, you want to use a geometrical bet size. This means choosing a size on the turn that allows you to bet a similar amount on the river, with the end result being that all the chips end up into the middle. Rampage raises to €500 from the cutoff with pocket threes before the villain on the button chooses to 3-bet to €1,700 with what is claimed to be pocket aces. The player in the small blind cold calls, and Rampage also calls with his small pocket pair.
💸 Flop – 9c 5c 3s:
Rampage’s set mining works out perfectly as he manages to spike bottom set on the flop. The small blind and Rampage check, allowing the villain on the button to make a continuation bet of €2,500. The small blind player folds, but Rampage looks to build a pot with what is likely the best hand by check raising to €7,000. Rampage’s opponent calls and they head to the turn.
💣 Turn – Jh:
No draws come in on the jack of hearts turn so Rampage continues to show aggression and bets out for €10,000. Rampage’s opponent calls again, and they head to the river.
🌊 River – 3c:
The river card is perfect for Rampage as he improves to the nuts with quad threes, plus the front door flush has come in! Rampage decides to put his opponent all in for €20,000. Will Rampage get paid in full with four of a kind, or will his opponent think that this can’t be a bluff and be able to lay down pocket rockets?
