He is known for his theatrics at the table and over the top celebrations. His most famous quote is “On Your Bike” when he stacks an opponent.
Dan Cates also known as Jungleman and w00ki3z is a 34 year old from the USA and is regarded by many as one of the best poker players in the world both online and live. He has played in all the high stakes poker cash games around the world for many years. He has over $14,400,000 in live tournament earnings, putting him in the top 100 on the all time money list. He famously won the World Series Of Poker (WSOP) $50,000 Players Championships (regarded as one of the hardest poker tournaments to win) in 2021 and again in 2022. Since 2012, Cates has played in over 68 live cash game streams and is down over $1,450,000.
Triton Poker was founded in 2015 by Paul Phua and Richard Yong; their aim was to attract a healthy mixture of recreational poker players and seasoned poker professionals. Part of what makes the Triton Series so special is that it’s open to a wide range of poker players – not just a select few. The 2019 Triton Montenegro Series was held at the Maestral Resort and Casino, Montenegro from May 5 – 17 in 2019. It had 10 different poker tournaments with buy-ins from €11,000 up to €110,000 in No-Limit Hold’em, Pot-Limit Omaha, and Short-Deck.
🔍 Preflop:
With the €8,000 straddle on, Dan Cates raises to €20,000 from the hijack with pocket aces. The cutoff, button and small blind fold but Tony G calls from the big blind with 54 of clubs as the two of them head to the flop.
💸 Flop – 8h 4h 4d:
Tony G flops trips and a backdoor straight draw with his suited connector. He decides to donk lead out for €30,000 which Cates calls holding an overpair to the board with his pocket rockets.
💣 Turn – Js:
The J of spades on the turn doesn’t change anything and Tony G leads out again with three fours this time for €70,000. Cates calls with his American Airlines as they head to the river.
🌊 River – 3d:
The front door flush draw misses on the 3 of diamonds river and Tony G still holds the best hand with three-of-a-kind. He shoves for a pot-sized bet of €251,000.
