Doug Polk and Nik Airball clash once again at The Lodge Card Club in a massive high stakes cash game. Polk puts out a value-bet on the river with pocket kings only to find himself facing a check-shove all-in from Airball. Will Polk make the call and win a pot worth over a quarter of a million dollars?
When deciding on whether to call a raise or a 3-bet preflop you should consider two things. Firstly, your implied pot odds – are you getting the correct price to call? Secondly, you should also consider whether the opponent you are playing against is the type of player that will triple barrel bluff on certain boards. If they are, it means that you are more likely to realize your implied odds therefore you can justify calling bigger 3-bets and raises preflop.
